
EXCLUSIVE: Tracie Andrews, 46, a former part-time model, became one of Britain's most notorious female killers after she stabbed her partner Lee Harvey, 25, pictured inset together, to death on the side of a road in Alvechurch, Worcestershire, in 1996. Just 36 hours after the attack, Andrews, then 27, took part in an emotional police press conference, main, in which she told a fictitious story about how she had watched her fiance being murdered by a stranger.
The fascinating discovery (right) was made by an underground explorer who was stunned to find a collapsed culvert opening up into the front room of a house (left). The explorer, who is known only as 'Substormflow' to preserve his anonymity, was exploring the waterways beneath Rossendale's streets when he stumbled across the remarkable find which he described as 'unique'. The outside the house, on Burnley Road in Rawtenstall, is boarded up and derelict but Substormflow discovered that a section of the culvert underneath it had collapsed and a large hole had appeared in the interior floor.
Ray Donovan star Jay Thomas has lost his battle with cancer at the age of 69. The actor, known for his roles in Cheers (pictured right), Murphy Brown and sitcom Love and War, passed away with wife Sally and sons Sam, Max and J.T. by his side. Agent and long-time friend Don Buchwald confirmed the sad news via a statement released to the New York Daily News: 'Jay was one of a kind, never at a loss for words and filled with so much fun and wonderfully whacky thoughts and behavior.'
Jemma Beale, 25, from Middlesex, has been jailed for 10 years after making up bogus rape and sexual assault claims against 15 men over the course of three years. One man even spent time in jail because of her allegations, while another fled the country with his life in tatters. The 25-year-old insisted she had been raped or attacked but after a five-week trial at Southwark Crown Court a jury of six men and five women took eight hours and 45 minutes to find her guilty of perjury and perverting the course of justice. Today she was jailed by a judge at the same court.

Utah couple Clarissa and Brett Tobiasson have been charged with child abuse for allegedly keeping their adopted son confined to a dark, spider-infested basement for up to 12 hours a day and denying him food, water and bathroom access. The child, who is now six years old, was adopted by the Tobiassons along with his two-year-old brother. The couple also have a two-month-old baby daughter.
Zoe Ball (top left and right) and former husband Norman Cook (bottom left) put on a united front today as their son picked up his GCSE results. The couple, who also have a daughter Nelly, seven, split last September after almost 18 years together. But they turned up at Brighton College together this morning when their son Woody, 16, picked up his results. Both Ball, 46, and Cook, 54 were delighted with their son's grades and hugged him as he proudly waved the results sheet. Woody achieved an 8 in English language, a 7 in English literature, a 6 in maths and As in drama, design and technology, science and additional science. Zoe said: 'He was worried about maths. Your granddad is going to be very proud because he got an A for Science.’ Woody's grandfather is Think of a Number children's TV presenter Johnny Ball (inset), who popularised science and maths for youngsters in the 1980s.
Angela Nwachukwu, 72, from Dorset, married her husband CJ Nwachukwu in Nigeria, in April 2015, just three months after he had added her on Facebook and struck up a conversation. She says she couldn't help but fall for her 27-year-old lover from Nigeria, when they started talking, and is devastated that their applications for visas have failed. Mr Nwachukwu has even been denied a tourist visa to see his wife, and their applications have been turned down because it's thought they won't have financial backing. She spent her life savings of £20,000 travelling to see him and hiring lawyers to help with the applications but says he has paid her back.

He was out riding his Suzuki motorbike with friends when he pulled a wheelie, only to swerve on to the other side of the road, where he fell from his bike in front of a van. Emma Hawkins (pictured with four-month-old Charlie and three-year-old Oliver) unsuccessfully challenged her 11 tickets and claims Cornwall Council told her to dump her newborn baby and three year-old child at home before going to find a space. Mrs Hawkins, 32, says the parking problem is caused by the number of tourists and second homeowners who flock to the picturesque riverside village of Polruan, Cornwall. A council spokesman said people are advised how to avoid fines during their appeal process, but that its letter (right) 'never suggested' Mrs Hawkins should leave her children unsupervised.
The ex-girlfriend of Jim Carrey told her therapist she wanted to 'have it all stop' as she struggled to eat and sleep while dealing with constant vomiting that was caused by the anxiety she was experiencing from her relationship with the actor. That admission was made on July 18, 2003 and included in medical records from White's doctors that have been subpoenaed by lawyers for both Carrey and White's mother Brigid Sweetman in her wrongful death lawsuit against the actor. Session notes and text messages obtained by DailyMail.com that span from October 2012 to July 2013 reveal that Cathriona White had been seeing Carrey for just six months when he suddenly broke off the relationship, a move that came after White had been tested for STDs but before she had received her results. The results came back positive soon after, and White told her therapist that she had contracted the STDs from Carrey, claiming that she questioned bumps on his genitals before her first outbreak but he dismissed them as irritation from shaving. Text messages from White to Carrey show a similar exchange as well between the two at this time.

A Muslim man in Barcelona hugs a stranger in the spot where a van drove into a crowd of people last Thursday, killing 15 people. With tensions high, the man is trying to defuse the tendency to hate the Other by offering hugs to people on the street. Beside him stands a sign that reads, 'I am Muslim, I am not terrorist, I share love and peace hugs.' Carol Rose, 71, was nearly twice the drink drive limit when she got behind the wheel of her Toyota Aygo at 3.40pm on April 26, smashing into three cars and a lorry in Ainsdale, near Liverpool. The dashcam on the front of her own vehicle shows her hitting the kerb, after she leaves her Ainsdale house, before smashing a wing mirror when she drives into a car parked on the other side of the road. Rose, who has hearing and eyesight problems, ploughed on regardless past children and parents leaving Merefield Special School. At one stage the video shows the school's lollipop man. She admitted her driving was terrible, and was banned from driving for three years, as well as given a suspended sentence.
A curious public has gotten their first glimpse of the woman who won the largest single-ticket Powerball prize in US history. Hospital worker, Mavis Wanczyk, 53, came forward Thursday afternoon as the $758.7 million winner of the Massachusetts State Lottery's Powerball jackpot. 'My pipe dream came true,' Wanczyk said at a news conference. Wanczyk, of Southbridge, bought the lucky ticket that matched all five numbers - 6, 7, 16, 23 and 26 - and the Powerball, 4, at the Pride Station and Store in Chicopee, Massachusetts. The smiling mother-of-two said she chose the winning numbers based on her family's birthdays. Wanczyk, who was joined by her mother and two sisters, doesn't plan to return to work. She said her dream of early retirement has finally come true. 'I called them and told them I will not be coming back,' she said as she laughed. Wanczyk said her colleague brought it to her attention that she had won the jackpot as they were driving home Wednesday night. She was leaving work from Mercy Medical Center with a Chicopee firefighter, and as they were discussing the Powerball, he looked at her ticket and told her she'd won. Unable to drive anywhere or do anything due to shock, Wanczyk said her colleague made sure she got home safely. Wanczyk, who has worked for the hospital for 32 years, said the first thing she wants to do is sit back and relax.
This is the moment when a huge landslide began in the Swiss mountains yesterday morning, showing the beginning of the devastation it would leave it its wake minutes later. Footage shows a mass of rocks and dust come off a cliff side of the Piz Cengalo mountain, and start making its way down the valley towards the village of Bondo, near the Italian border, forcing evacuations and leaving several people feared dead. Some eight hikers are still missing more than a day after disappearing from the mountainside, and some 100 people had to leave their homes in the eastern canton of the Grisons.

Explaining what attracts him to the capital, Hawkes said: 'London is just so diverse. There are beautiful parks, incredible skyscrapers and even areas that can feel quite village-like. He said: 'You can fly wherever you like over London so the choice is almost limitless, making it extremely difficult in some respects to work out where the best viewpoints are.' Saudi King Salman was welcomed home at Jeddah airport on Wednesday by his son after he spent a month at his favourite holiday spot, Tangier, in the north west of Morocco, on a $100million holiday. The king himself stayed in his 74-acre summer palace, one of his many properties around the world, which boasts lavish restaurants, and impressive views of the sea, while an entourage of more than 1,000, who were booked into luxury hotels. According to reports in Morocco, King Salman's trip accounts for 1.5 per cent of the country's foreign tourism revenue.

Dozens of locals worked overnight on Wednesday to try and save a 32ft, seven ton, humpback whale calf after it washed ashore and was unable to get itself back into the ocean. Volunteers have kept it covered with water until JCBs could be brought in to dig a channel back to the sea. The hope is that tidal waters will naturally refloat the animal and allow it to swim back to deeper waters. Humpback whales use the warm waters off the Brazilian coast as a place to mate, give birth and raise their young.
A new robot will enable street artists to create complex murals in places that were previously impossible or too expensive to reach. In its first full-scale demonstration, it created a giant, six-color mural of a woman on a chimney with just one pass by switching colors as it sprayed.

While the animals are notoriously unpredictable these kitties have stayed perfectly still after being fitted with their head pieces, in order for their humans to capture the perfect snap. Miraculously several owners have been able to source miniature hats for their pets with one kitty pictured in a red sombrero while another poses in a bespoke helmet.
The Typhoon's flight path was tracked on the website FlightRadar24, showing them appearing to take some very deliberate turns to follow the phallic outline. After taking off from RAF Corningsby, the aircraft initially headed south past Spalding before turning east to begin the main section of their masterpiece. Flying over the Lincolnshire coast, the Typhoon appears to come back on itself on multiple occasions to get all the necessary outlines of the body part. And it was immediately picked up military aircraft specialists CivMilAir, who immediately shared the outline on social media.
Black macaque Niv, 10, adopted her feathered friend after it wandered into her enclosure at the Ran Gan Safari park, near Tel Aviv, Israel. Her maternal instinct immediately kicked in and zookeepers say the pair have been inseparable ever since. Footage of the pals shows Niv sticking close to her friend as it contently pecks around the enclosure.
